The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland’s International Clinical Fellowship Programme (ICFP) offers clinical training to international doctors who are sponsored by their government, hospital or national training body.
The International Clinical Fellowship Programme is completed under the guidance of leading consultant Trainers in accredited hospitals across Ireland.

The ICFP offers a unique opportunity to develop professionally as a doctor and learn advanced skills that will be especially beneficial for the health service in your home country.
The programme is offered over two to three years of clinical training, after which you are required to return to your country of origin.
RCSI delivers this programme under the International Medical Graduate Training Initiative in conjunction with the Health Service Executive.
The programme enables international surgical trainees to undertake two years of surgical speciality training at RCSI training sites in Ireland.

The Irish College of General Practitioners Clinical Fellowship Programme (ICGP-CFP) provides a route for overseas doctors wishing to undergo structured and advanced postgraduate medical training in Ireland. The ICGP-CFP enables suitably qualified overseas postgraduate medical Clinical Fellowship Doctors to undertake a fixed period of active training in clinical services in Ireland. The programme is normally offered over one or two years of clinical training, after which the overseas doctors will be required to return to their country of origin. In limited certain circumstances, the period of training may extend to three years.
